Disruption between Salisbury and Southampton Central expected until 13:30

A points failure in the Romsey area means that all lines are blocked. As a result, trains running between Salisbury and Southampton Central may be delayed, cancelled or revised.

Disruption is expected until 13:30.

Your ticket can be used at no extra cost, on the following services, in both directions:

• South Western Railway services between Salisbury / Basingstoke and Reading
• CrossCountry services between Reading and Southampton Central
• Salisbury Reds route X7R between Salisbury, Romsey, Totton, Millbrook and Southampton Central
• Salisbury Reds route 37 between Salisbury and Dean

South Western customer advice:

Engineers are on their way to site. Due to this, trains are currently unable to run between Salisbury and Southampton Central via Romsey and Chandlers Ford.

Dean / Mottisfont & Dunbridge / Romsey and Chandlers Ford will not be served.

• Alternative South Western Railway services via Basingstoke to get to stations in the Southampton / Bournemouth area
• Salisbury Reds X7 and X7R between Salisbury - Romsey - Totton - Southampton
• Salisbury Reds 37 between Salisbury and Dean station
• Bluestar Buses N1 between Southampton - Chandlers Ford - Shawford - Winchester
• Bluestar 1 between Winchester - Chandlers Ford - Southampton
• Bluestar 2 between Southampton - St Denys - Swaythling - Eastleigh
• Bluestar 3 between Southampton and Eastleigh
• Bluestar 4 between Southampton and Romsey
• Bluestar 5 between Eastleigh and Romsey
• Bluestar 6 between Southampton - Millbrook - Redbridge
• Bluestar 7, 8, 9, 11 and 12 between Southampton - Millbrook - Redbridge
• Bluestar 20 between Southampton and St Denys
• Bluestar 23 between Eastleigh and Velmore (near Chandlers Ford).
• Bluestar 24 between Eastleigh and Southampton Airport Parkway
• Stagecoach South 66 between Romsey and Winchester

Rail replacement transport has been arranged to run as follows:

• One coach departing Salisbury at 11:30
• One double decker bus departing from Eastleigh at 11:30
• One coach departing from Southampton Central at 11:45

These will not be running to a timetable and will be shuttling under staff instructions.
