Lines reopened: disruption at Crystal Palace expected until 18:30

Lines have now reopened following a trespass incident in the Crystal Palace area. However, whilst service recovers, trains running through the station may be delayed by up to 30 minutes, cancelled or revised.

Disruption is expected until 18:30. A visual disruption map video is now available.

Southern customer advice:

If you are travelling between West Norwood and Crystal Palace you can now travel on your normal route.

Some services will still be delayed by at least 30 minutes or may not call at all scheduled stations whilst we work on recovering the booked service.

If you choose to travel via an alternative route, we recommend leaving at least 30 minutes more time to complete your journey.

Alternative Southern and Thameslink services on any reasonable route, including via Tulse Hill
London Buses between London Bridge or London Victoria towards Crystal Palace, Croydon and Beckenham Junction areas
London Overground services to / from West Croydon
London Trams between Beckenham Junction-Birkbeck-East Croydon-West Croydon
London Underground services between London terminals
Southeastern services between Beckenham Junction / Penge East / Peckham Rye and London Victoria

A trespass incident has been reported in the Crystal Palace area earlier this afternoon, and trains had been stopped for safety. Emergency services and Network Rail attended on-site to remove the person.

Trespassing on the railway is extremely dangerous. Trains run at all times, often without warning, and many areas have high-voltage third rails, steep drops, and other hazards.

It is also illegal, with serious penalties for obstructing the railway.
